European Commission, 17 July 2026: presentation of a proposal to revise the EU ETS/maritime ETS, with a targeted reduction of the applicable gross tonnage threshold to 400 GT for certain vessel categories (down from 5,000 GT currently) and an allocation of 110 million allowances (2028-2040) to support zero-emission fuels.
