Publication of the law simplifying economic life — Law No. 2026-403 of 26 May 2026 on the simplification of economic life was published in the Official Journal of 27 May. It notably reforms commercial leases (monthly rent payment at the tenant’s request, capping and regulation of the return of the security deposit, treatment of security interests in the event of sale of the premises, “tunnel” indexation clauses, termination clauses for non-payment), facilitates SME access to public procurement, and simplifies various administrative procedures. Some measures apply from 28 May 2026, while others will come into force by decree or on 1 January 2027.
