Procedure

The Expedited Procedure does not change the schedule. The Streamlined Procedure halves the caps and runs before a sole arbitrator.

S$AverageMaximum

The SIAC schedule only sets maximum fees. Like SIAC’s own calculator, the average case takes 75% of the maximum, with a minimum administration fee of S$ 5,000 (S$ 2,500 in Streamlined cases).

What the estimate leaves out

  • The case filing fee (S$ 3,000 for an overseas party, S$ 3,270 including GST for a Singapore party), which is non-refundable.
  • The tribunal’s and SIAC’s expenses, hearing rooms, transcription and interpretation.
  • 9% GST where applicable, and withholding tax on fees paid to non-resident arbitrators.
  • The fees of any tribunal secretary and emergency arbitrator proceedings (S$ 5,000 administration fee for an overseas party, emergency arbitrator’s fees fixed at S$ 25,000 unless the Registrar decides otherwise).
  • Your own counsel, expert and witness costs.

Reading the result

Caps, not a range. The SIAC schedule sets, for each amount in dispute, the maximum administration fee and the maximum fee of each arbitrator. The average case follows SIAC’s own calculator: 75% of the maximum, with a minimum administration fee of S$ 5,000 (S$ 2,500 in Streamlined cases).

Streamlined Procedure. Introduced by the 2025 Rules, it applies by agreement or where the amount in dispute does not exceed S$ 1,000,000, unless otherwise decided. Sole arbitrator, award within three months, fees capped at half the schedule.

Expedited Procedure. It covers disputes up to S$ 10,000,000 and shortens the timetable, without a separate fee scale.

Euro equivalent. Indicative only, at the ECB reference rate. SIAC invoices in Singapore dollars, and the parties are jointly and severally liable for the costs of the arbitration.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a SIAC arbitration cost?

For a S$ 1,000,000 dispute before a sole arbitrator, SIAC administration fees are capped at S$ 15,000 and the arbitrator’s fees at S$ 60,000. The average case, computed as SIAC does, comes to S$ 56,250. The filing fee, expenses and counsel costs come on top.

When does the SIAC Streamlined Procedure apply?

By agreement of the parties, or where the amount in dispute does not exceed S$ 1,000,000, unless otherwise decided. It runs before a sole arbitrator and its fees are capped at half the schedule.

Are fees tripled with three arbitrators?

The schedule caps the fees of each arbitrator. With three arbitrators, the total cap is therefore three times that of a sole arbitrator. Administration fees do not change.

Does SIAC invoice in euros?

No. Amounts are fixed in Singapore dollars. The euro equivalent shown here is indicative only.

How reliable is this calculator?

It applies SIAC’s official Schedule of Fees in force since 1 January 2025 and was checked against SIAC’s online fee calculator. The Registrar and the tribunal fix the actual amounts of each case.
