On 17 March, Paraguay in turn ratifies the EU-Mercosur agreement, completing ratification on the Mercosur side (Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay). On 18 March, the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade adopts its position on two legislative proposals implementing the tariff component of the Turnberry Agreement (removal of most tariffs on American industrial products, preferential access for certain American agricultural and fishery products), accompanied by a reinforced suspension clause and a “sunrise” clause.
